Welcome to the Town of Belle Plaine website. Belle Plaine is just south of the city of Shawano in north central Wisconsin. With a population of 1,855, it is largely rural and includes several lakes, including Cloverleaf and Long lakes, and a portion of the Wolf River. Main highways running through it are U.S. 29 and Wisconsin 22. Our town celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008.

 

 

NOV. 3 ELECTION:

Information about absentee voting is on the Elections page and will be updated with in-person early voting dates.

Clerk Kris Vomastic urges residents voting absentee must enclose a copy of driver's license or Voter ID card as well as a phone number in case there are questions about the ballot.

Early in-person voting will be available at the Belle Plaine Community Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, Wednesday, Oct. 21 as well as Tuesday Oct. 27 and Wednesday, Oct. 28. It will be also available on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and Friday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. or by appointment with the clerk. Early voting ends at 5 p.m. Oct. 30.

 

NOTICE: Dog owners are reminded to clean up after their pets while walking them. Please be respectful of your neghbrs. Also, please refrain from having your dogs in the water, which can lead to diseases. Thank you.

Nov. 3: Election, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Community Center

Public Hearing will be held on Monday November 9, at 7 p.m, at the Belle Plaine Community Center on the Proposed 2021 Budget. 1. To approve total 2021 Highway Expenditures pursuant to Section 81.01 (3) of the Wisconsin Statutes. 2. To adopt the 2020 Town Levy to be paid in 2021 pursuant to section 60.01(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes.The Town Board will then meet immediately following the above meeting to adopt the budget that is to be paid in 2021.
