Town of Belle Plaine

Welcome to the Town of Belle Plaine website. Belle Plaine is just south of the city of Shawano in north central Wisconsin. With a population of 1,855, it is largely rural and includes several lakes, including Cloverleaf and Long lakes, and a portion of the Wolf River. Main highways running through it are U.S. 29 and Wisconsin 22. Our town celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008.

BELLE PLAINE COMMUNITY CENTER

CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 6

BECAUSE OF CORONAVIRUS ORDERS

Urgent Request:

If you have a seasonal home on Cloverleaf Lakes or Long Lake, please stay at your winter home at this time. It is difficult to tell someone to please don’t come, but under the circumstance it doesn’t make sense to anybody. Other communities such as Door County and Vilas County have issued similar requests. Shawano County has very limited health care facilities. The town is under a public emergency order as well as the rest of Wisconsin. Thank you.
